Jockeys issue, HBO Documentary on Ansar Burney, won
American Award:
NEW YORK, May 04, 2005 : The documentary of American
Television channel, on the great work of Ansar Burney
Welfare Trust International, as how to save underage
‘Child Camel Jockeys’ from the slave labour
in the Middle Eastern countries, telecasted by American
TV Channel HBO (Real Sports) in October 04 has won,
the American Televisions Industries most well known
Award, 'Emmy Awards' in United States.
The story of HBO TV on the plight of underage children
as much as only two and a half to seven years old, working
on slave labour from 17 to 18 hours a day in Middle
Eastern countries, as child camel jockeys, living in
miserable conditions like hell in private jails and
the great work of renowned human rights activist Ansar
Burney and his wife Shaheen
Burney as how they are saving these children from slave
and making there release possible from private jails,
has won an US ‘Emmy Award’ last night.
The Emmy Award is the most well-known award in the American
television industry. Emmy Awards are given out in various
categories; HBO story won in the category of "Outstanding
Sports Journalism".
The renowned producer of the documentary, Joe Perskie,
on stage after receiving the award, talked about Ansar
Burney and all the work he did with him to make this
story possible. He said that the work of HBO and Ansar
Burney Welfare Trust International, together has been
recognized, and has reached people here in the US as
well as elsewhere in the world.

asked FM to collect 'dead bodies' from Muscat mountains:
ISLAMABAD, Aug. 11, 2004
The Prime Minister of Pakistan Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain
has took a serious note of the ‘dead bodies’
of poor Pakistani labourers lying and decaying on the
mountains of Muscat. He also noticed misbehaviour with
Pakistani nationals in Middle East and Arab Countries
and asked the Pakistani Embassies to ensure respect
of each and every Pakistani.
Prime Minister on Wednesday morning contacted Pakistan’s
renowned human rights activist Ansar Burney, Advocate
on telephone to get aware the situation.
Prime Minister lauded the great efforts of ‘human
rights Angel’ Ansar Burney, Advocate in the field
of humanity and human rights around the globe and seeks
his help and assistance in collecting the dead bodies,
skeletons and bones of poor Pakistanis from Muscat and
UAE mountains, who lost their precious lives because
of hunger and thirst.
After getting huge amount these Pakistanis were taken
by the cruel agents as illegal immigrants on a dream
of brighter future in Middle East countries and later
left them on high mountains of Muscat and UAE, where
these innocents lost their lives in a miserable condition
because of thirst and hunger and animals were now eating
their body. Some of these Pakistanis were killed by
the agents themselves and some were killed by Boarder
security forces.
Prime Minister Shujaat is the first Premier of Pakistan
who took a serious note of this inhuman treatment with
Pakistanis at abroad. He called it a worst kind of human
rights violation and asked all the Embassies to ensure
full and complete respect of all Pakistanis abroad.
Prime Minister requested with the Chairman of the Ansar
Burney Welfare Trust International and Prisoners Aid
Society, Ansar Burney to go to Muscat and collect all
the dead bodies, skeletons and bones of human beings
and made arrangements for their funeral.
He asked the Pakistan Embassy at Muscat to provide
all necessary help and assistance to Ansar Burney, Advocate
in this regard.
Prime Minister said he was grieved and feel sorrow
on this pathetic issue. He requested to Ansar Burney
to help Pakistan government for the betterment of human
rights situation. 
Burney appeals
to captors in Iraq to release all innocents including
diplomat:
The Pakistan’s renowned human and civil rights activist,
Ansar Burney, Advocate has demanded with the captors in
Iraq to release all the foreign hostages including a Cairo
diplomat, Mohamed Mamdouh Kotb.
He appealed to the killers of humanity to release all
hostages including Pakistanis, Indians, Kenyans and
Egyptians in the name of humanity, human rights and
peace.
The three Indians, three Kenyans and Egyptian were
snatched last Wednesday.
Chairman of the civil rights and peace organization,
Ansar Burney Welfare Trust International and Prisoners
Aid Society, Ansar Burney, Advocate on Monday also announced
to pay if any ransom to buy the freedom of all innocents,
without any discrimination, from the clutches of Terrorists
and human killers in Iraq.
We have heard nothing new about the two Pakistanis
kidnapped late on Friday.
He said those who are using the name of Islam should
know that kidnapping of innocents and killing them is
a big sin in Islam.
Ansar Burney also demanded with the Prime Minister
of Iraq, Iyad Allawi, United Nations, United States,
United Kingdom, Europe, Middle East and Arab to help
Ansar Burney Welfare Trust International in getting
the release of innocents from the clutches of terrorists
and killers of humanity in Iraq.

announced to pay ransom for the release of 3 Pakistanis
from Baghdad:
KARACHI, July 13, 2004: The Pakistan’s human and
rights group Ansar Burney Welfare Trust International
has announced to pay any ransom to buy the freedom of
three innocent Pakistanis from the clutches of Terrorists
and human killers who abducted these Pakistanis from
Baghdad to make there nonsense demand with the Pakistan’s
President General Parvez Musharraf.
In an statement renowned human rights 'Angel' Ansar
Burney, Advocate has strongly condemned the demand of
the terrorist kidnappers with Pakistan’s President
General Parvez Musharraf to close Pakistani Mission
in Baghdad.
He said the demand from the terrorist group in Iraq
is foolish, nonsense and rubbish.
The Chairman of the Ansar Burney Welfare Trust International
and Prisoners Aid Society, Ansar Burney, Advocate has
expressed his great concern over a report that three
Pakistanis, were taken hostage in Iraq a few days ago,
may be beheaded.
He said in the greater interest of humanity and human
rights to get these three innocent Pakistanis released
the Ansar Burney Welfare Trust International is ready
to pay reasonable ransom to the killers of humanity.
Ansar Burney asked terrorists not to behead three innocent
Pakistani Muslims nor behead any other non-Muslims or
of any countrymen.
Ansar Burney, Advocate also asked the American and
Iraqi authorities to get them released from the clutches
of Terrorists and human killers, so that they returns
to Pakistan and join their devastated family.
Ansar Burney also appealed to the United Nations, United
States of America, European Countries, Islamic World
and Iraqi government for their kind intervention in
getting the early release of three Pakistani nationals.

Karo Kari claimed
4101 lives in six years: Senate told
ISLAMABAD, 09 July, 2004: The upper house of parliament
was informed on Friday that more than four thousand
men and women were killed in the name of honour killing
during the last six years.
Interior Minister Faisal Saleh Hayat, during question
hour session, told the House that during the last six
years 3451 cases of honor killing were registered and
1262 among them were under process in courts and the
remaining 2118 cases were disposed off. Giving more
details in this regard he informed that four thousand
one hundred and one men and women were killed in the
name of Karo Kari from 1998 to 2003 in all the four
provinces. The victims included 1327 men and 2774 women.
He said during this period 675 men were killed in Punjab,
348 in Sindh, 188 in NWFP and 116 in Balochistan in
the name of Karo Kari. Similarly 1578 women became victims
of honor killing in Punjab, 751 in Sindh, 260 in NWFP
and 185 in Balochistan during the same period.
Interior Minister told the House that respective police
departments in all the four provinces registered 3451
cases of honor killing. He said 1262 cases of Karo Kari
were under process in different courts while 2118 cases
have been disposed off.
In Punjab total of 160 cases were disposed off during
this period as the courts awarded life imprisonment
to 59-accused and death sentence to 52 people while
the reset received different penalties. He said 144
appeals in High Court and one appeal is pending in Supreme
Court.
He, however, said only two cases of honor killing were
disposed off in Sindh province. The court awarded life
imprisonment to one culprit while the other got 25 years
rigorous imprisonment. He said no appeal was pending
in Sindh High Court in this regard.
Similarly in NWFP province different courts awarded
sentences to fifteen accused involved in honor killing.
Cases were registered against 358 people and no appeal
was pending in High Court.
Senate was informed that in Balochistan twelve accused
received death sentence, fourteen got life imprisonment
while another fourteen involved in Karo Kari incidents
received different punishments. One appeal was pending
in Balochistan High Court in this regard.
To another question, Faisal Saleh Hayat informed upper
House of the parliament that eleven bogus passports
were recovered from Bahawalpur, which were issued on
fake and changed identity cards last year.
He said an inquiry was underway in Lahore against eighteen
accused involved including Bahawalpur Passport Office
Deputy Assistant Director Slamat Qureshi, Muhammad Ghafar
and Superintendent Muhammad Safdar.
The inquiry officers of Lahore and Multan zones have
asked for registration of cases against these accused.
Meanwhile, FIA headquarter has handed over the inquiry
to director passport circle Lahore due to a rift emerged
between inquiry officers and supervisory officers about
the matter. Now the case is being investigated by FIA
Lahore office, Senate told.

Skeleton
of Khalid will arrive on Monday:
KARACHI, June 11, 2004: The Ansar Burney Welfare Trust
International is in search of a family of one Khalid
Hayat whose skeleton was found from the Oman’s
mountains in UAE.
Renowned human rights activist and Chairman of the
Trust Ansar Burney, Advocate who visited UAE and arrives
back home on Friday in search of the family of Khalid
said that the skeleton of Khalid Hayat son of Khan Mohammad
was found from the mountains of Ras Al Khaimah (UAE)
adjacent to Oman (Muscat) mountains. He was recognized
only because of traveling documents found nearby to
his body.
He said that all the arrangements have been completed
to bring the body of Khalid back to home and it will
arrive Pakistan within the next two days, but the Trust
is not aware about his relatives and now Ansar Burney
Trust started their search to hand them the body for
burial.
He said any one having knowledge of Khalid’s
family in Pakistan could contact to Ansar Burney Welfare

Burney said that Khalid was the economic migrant entered
via Oman’s mountains and died in miserable condition
on the high mountains because of hunger and thirst later
his body’s skeleton was found by the UAE police
from the mountain boarders.
"According to traveling documents the address
mentioned in the passport is Dera Baghoka, Miana Gondal,
Phalia, Mandi-Bahauddin, Punjab". Ansar Burney
said.
"Dozens of dead bodies and skeletons are still
lying on the mountains of Oman in Muscat". Ansar
Burney added.
He said on Thursday morning the body of another Pakistani
Mohammad Safeer, 25, came to Islamabad for burial that
died of excessive bleeding from gunshot wounds. The
body of Mohammad Safeer, who was shot at by the Coastguards
on Ras Al Khaimah mountains on May 22 while trying to
enter UAE illegally, was came to Pakistan on Thursday
morning.
Ansar Burney said that in another case, the decomposed
body of Afzal Hussain, 30, from Parachinar, was found
in UAE on the mountains adjacent to Oman, few weeks
ago and was brought to Pakistan for burial.

Firing
on Ansar Burney
KARACHI, May 31, 2004 (HRNI): The unknown terrorists
fired the vehicle of human rights activist and Chairman
of the Ansar Burney Welfare Trust International Mr Ansar
Burney, Advocate on Monday evening.
The terrorists used sophisticated weapons and attack
took place in Gattar Baghicha, Pak Colony, Karachi.
Mr Ansar Burney along with his wife Mrs Shaheen Burney,
Vice Chairperson of the Ansar Burney Welfare Trust International
and his two bodyguards were coming from his office when
unknown terrorists opened fire on his vehicle but fortunately
they all came saved as the Guards counter fired.

Body of 'Child Camel Jockey' buried in DG Khan on Wednesday:

The dead body of a five year old Pakistani boy
working on slave labour as 'Child Camel Jockey' in UAE
since last three years, who fell off a camel during
a race on 15th of September and later died in Al-Ain
hospital UAE on 28th September, buried here in DG Khan,
today (Wednesday). The Vice Chairman Syed Fahad Burney
and volunteers of the human rights organisation Ansar
Burney Welfare Trust International also attended the
burial.
At the time of burial of an innocent boy’s body,
touching scenes were witnessed. The Parents and other
relatives were cried like anything. Ansar Burney Welfare
Trust International has made special arrangements for
burial.
Chairman of the Ansar Burney Welfare Trust International,
Prisoners Aid Society and Bureau of Missing and Kidnapped
Children/Persons, Ansar Burney, Advocate said that Mohammad
Kaleem (5) son of Mohammad Hussain, fell off the camel
during camel race training in Al Ain, UAE on 15th September,
and camel ran him over leaving serious head injuries,
later he died in Al-Ain hospital on 28th September.
Mohammad Kaleem suffered serious head and body injuries,
when he fell off the camel during race.
Ansar Burney, Advocate called it a serious violation
of human rights, crime against humanity as well as murder
of the innocent boy. He demanded for the arrest of the
owner of Child Camel Jockeys Camp. Mr Burney also urged
the authorities to stop such inhuman practice in the
Middle East and Arab countries in the greater interest
of humanity and human rights.
In UAE the Ansar Burney Welfare Trust International’s
volunteers complained that the influential camel camp
owner along with the help of Al-Ain police tried to
take away the boy from the hospital to hide the incident
but because of the interference of Ansar Burney Welfare
Trust International failed to do that.
Ansar Burney, after having found out that the influential
owner of the camel camp had been trying to take away
the seriously injured boy from the hospital, immediately
contacted Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi, Pakistan Consulate
in Dubai and American Embassy at Abu Dhabi and requested
them to help Ansar Burney Welfare Trust International
in saving the life of the boy but the Pakistani mission
was failed to help only to please the rulers.
Ansar Burney thanked the American Embassy in UAE especially
to the Political Secretary, Ms Susan Raddant for their
kind cooperation in the matter.
After fell off the boy from camel and camel ran over
the body, when father of the boy went to the police
station in Al-Ain, police refused to lodge the report
and threaten him to put behind the bar if he will again
try to lodge the report against the owner of the camel
camp.
In the last twenty three years the Ansar Burney Welfare
Trust International (ABWTI) has successfully traced
out more than 100,000 children from Pakistan and other
parts of the world over through its 'Bureau of Missing
and Kidnapped Children/Persons' and has delivered them
safely to their families.
